There are 2 requests I would have for possible Pac The Man X updates.

1) Be able to minimize the Pac The Man main screen to the Dock, which currently it cannot do and only the Level Editor can be minimized. This would help to quickly move the window out of the way when you are jumping back and forth between editing a level and testing your game.

[Note: it is possible to use Spaces to move the Window to another Space, but it would be nice to be able to minimize the main window.]

2) Enable an undo feature, especially for the "minus" button that deletes levels. The button is way too close to the level drop-down menu, meaning you can go reach for a level to move to and then boom - you accidentally deleted a level and then the whole entire level file has all the subsequent levels moved out of order.

Of course, Stone Design made the level editor so that would be something the Pac The Man X programmer(s) would have to confer regarding.

This is merely a wish list, but I doubt updates are in the future for Pac The Man.

I'd like to see the game take 3D graphics to a whole new level, a whole new sound set, and even make the boards four times as big - but I guess I would have to do the programming, which is not my forte.

As the old adage goes, if you want something done, you have to do it yourself.

It's nice to dream.

You can add minimize support by editing the file main_window.nib with InterfaceBuilder. About the editor: Andrew Stone, who made it, is very responsive and a nice guy. Maybe you try to ask him?

I'll do that.

I guess I'll go ahead and tell everybody what my levels file will be. It will be 100 levels. I will keep the name of the levels file to myself for the time being.

I was up all night last night getting levels rearranged. I have 5 levels I need to come up with to complete.

The thing is I want them to be good, not just any levels, and to not look similar to others in the same file or others I made in the past.

The one thing I have noticed about a good level design is that the "maze" and the design should always be Uniform. That is to say, how do you compare one level that goes all over the place and appears chaotic to another one that looks chaotic? There needs to be a uniform design with similar element within the level, otherwise it will not look appealing to the person who is investigating the boards to see if they want to play it.

Even then, you can still have a uniform level design and it still be utterly boring to play.

These will certainly be some of the most challenging levels you have seen thus far. I would pity the person would attempt to try the "Hard" mode.

Anyway, my new levels will not not even compare to the level sets I made in the past. The ones I made in the past (Trauma, Black & Blue) are so "all over the place" which is what I was attempting at the time, but I guess "fun" is a subjective experience. In fact it was not until "Homage" that my design style started to change towards more uniform design elements.

This one will be special.

Thank you McSebi for uploading my latest levels, Homage 2 and Trauma 2, which are both re-makes. You can still play the original versions which have unique levels that did not carry over to version 2.

I wanted to give you something to play for the time being until I get my 100-level package done. It will likely be my last level package when released.

PTMX has become something of an obsession that has preoccupied my time and enabled to bring out my creativity. I've been unemployed for quite awhile now and this has given me something to do while I get my life together.

Take care all of you.

How to install custom level files

In Pac the Man X choose Open custom levels folder in Finder in the Game menu.
It opens up the folder "~Library/Application Support/Pac the Man X".
Drag the plist files into this Finder window.
Drag the picture files into the "Backgrounds" folders there
In Pac the Man X open the preferences dialog and select the new level file to play it.
