Ive heard something like the number of dots you eat depends on how much fruit pops up, will someone please explain this to me? It would help very much and thanks for reading this, any help is appreciated with very much gratitude.

Alex, the dots are current running between the power packs. This is not true for all levels but most. On most levels, you have to not eat so many dots immediately - waiting for the fruit to pop up. I usually carve out a little pattern and circle through it. If you go ahead and kill all the dots on level 1 instantly or too quickly, no fruit will come up. Maybe only like one or two pieces of fruit. The difficult part is to stay alive long enough to allow all five fruits to appear. This is where the skill is involved. Also, you don't get the cherry on every level, and it really is stressful when the cherry doesn't appear. So, don't eat all the dots immediately. Wait. Wait. Sometimes 10 minutes, 5 minutes. I don't know. I've waited awhile, and it's pretty aggravating. But, all the fruit will eventually appear. I usually keep the number I've eaten in my mind. I hate those times when I lose track though.

This bothers me -- the idea of upping your score by lurking about until something (a fruit) happens. As opposed to just playing the game and taking the fruits that happen. I've played in the latter mode and scored above 800,000, which ranks me in the middle of the top 100. I'm as satisfied with that as PhillyWilly et al. are with over one million scores earned only by investing 5 hours in a single game! I think there should be some sort of timer, as in basketball and football, that keeps people honest. Then the most skilled at the ordinary, intended play of the game will rank at the top. It will still probably be PhillyWilly, but he would have a lot more free time in the bargain. -- Steve

You may be right, but as soon as I build in this timer people will find another way to earn more points than by playing the game. It's a race I cannot win, similar to all the software vulnerabilities

I'm sure you are right, but perhaps you could alter the underlying rationale. That is, if grandgizmo is correct and you have to not eat so many dots if you want the fruits to appear, change the rationale under which fruits appear. Make them appear randomly, in other words.
Frankly, my analysis says that they DO appear randomly, and that those who "lurk" to up their scores intuit incorrectly when they say that you have to not eat so many dots. The whole point is that if fruits DO appear randomly, then by definition waiting around a long time will increase the likelihood of fruits appearing. In other words, it has nothing to do with the dots.
