OK, so I installed Pac the Man X on my PowerBook G4 and it worked beautifully, but when I went to install it on my PowerMac G4 it was going at approximately half the speed. What's up with that? The game crawls along. Is it suppose to be like this, or is it just me?

How fast is you PowerMac G4 and what settings do you have there? It can also be some third party software on you PoerMac which slows down the game.
Please give some more information.

The PowerMac is kinda old...

733 MHz PPC
1 GB RAM
40 GB HD
Bus Speed 133 MHz

As far as settings go, I am not sure what you mean. Any specific things I should be looking for?

Thanks for your help.

Any graphics card? Pac the Man X is OpenGL so graphics cards are very important.

Well, your graphics card is more than able to run Pac the Man X, so the slowdown must be caused by something else. Most likely software. We forgot to ask you something important - what is the version of your Mac OS X? If it's below version 10.3 (Panther), that would explain the slowdown. If not, you must have a program that is running while you play the game.

I am operating 10.4.9 and besides Finder I have nothing running. Is there any way to speed up the game to faster than normal rate?

There is no way to speed up the game.

733 Mhz is a bit below the recommended computer speed for the game. I have tested the game on an iMac with that speed and have also found it much slower than on faster machines. It's playable, but slower.

Is your PowerBook faster than that?

Yes, but not by much. 800 mhz.

Huh Sebastian, we recommend a 500MHz G3 on the Web page of Pac the Man X. Colin's 733MHz is quite fine. Anyway, back to you Colin, your slowdown is puzzling. If it might reassure you, there are other G4 users with similar performance problems. Unfortunately, we have no idea what the causes are.

Maybe McSebi should switch back to its old 2D engine...

I recently had to re-load Pac the Man X
this new one has Tsunami's on it.
this is very hard- I don't see much difference from
easy-normal-hard . I've played about 30 times - level 6 is my
high. I like the game but this is very difficult.
Anyone else having trouble???

Trouble with the game? Or trouble getting past Level 6?

I installed Pac The Man on my MacBookPro and it worked beautifully. But after about 2 weeks it slow down for a while and speed it up and than it slow down again and again.

MacOS 10.4.11
2 GB
Intel core duo

This is most likely not the game's fault because you say it worked for two weeks. What did you do after the two weeks? What says Activity monitor during gameplay?
